I never rid it...but i ask my sister for the opinion and she said IT WAS SOOO. FUN!!! It might jerk idk never rid but have fun. I RECOMMEND IT
Post-ride: ouch!
I really don't like this coaster. The coaster, for the time in 1987, was amazing, but now compared to other roller coasters, it's very clunky. I have ridden it before, and if you haven't ridden it, you have no idea. The ride feels like a wooden roller coaster. Now imaging if that would go upside-down 6 times. That's the Vortex. I had a painful headache after riding this, and I've heard that from everyone that has ridden this ride. Kings Island should improve the ride and make it a lot smoother.
This ride was always a must-ride as a kid, now that I've gotten older it's starting to show its age much more. Avoid any seat past the 4th row unless you don't mind getting slight whiplash. I made the mistake of sitting in the last row a few summers back and it instantly made my neck sore for days and gave me a splitting migraine, also beat up my fiance pretty good as well since her head is pretty much level with the hard over-shoulder restraints. I could see them clearing this old relic out for something smooth in the coming years, and after as many rides as I've taken on Vortex, it would be a welcome change in my honest opinion.
Not as fast, tall or long as some of the others but still a favorite of mine. I love the loops and the lines are not usually very long except at really peak times. It's a good started too!
10/21/17: Pre-ride: con: hostile, unhelpful female worker; pro: other female worker was helpful with seatbelt where the other failed
